Common Baits and Easy Techniques That Work

Fishing along the Emerald Coast doesn’t have to be complicated. Many of the same baits and techniques we use on charters can also be used from shore, docks, or public access points in Destin, 30A, and Panama City Beach.Simple guidance throughout the trip

Common Baits Used

  • Live shrimp — one of the most effective and easiest baits to use

  • Cut bait — small pieces of fish that attract a variety of species

  • Artificial lures — simple jigs or soft plastics for casting

  • Squid — great for bottom fishing and easy to handle

Simple Techniques Anyone Can Use

  • Fish near structure like docks, bridges, or rocks

  • Let bait sit naturally and avoid overworking it

  • Fish early morning or late afternoon for best results

  • Watch the water for movement, baitfish, or surface activity
