Grilled Tripletail with Cajun Butter

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs tripletail fillets

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

    Cajun Butter

  • 5 tbsp butter

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning

  • 1 tsp lemon juice

  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley

  • pinch cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat grill to 400°F and lightly oil the grates.

  • Pat the tripletail fillets dry and brush both sides with olive oil.

  • Season the fish evenly with salt, pepper, paprika, Cajun seasoning, and garlic powder.

  • Place the fillets on the grill and cook 4–5 minutes on the first side.

  • Flip carefully and grill another 3–4 minutes until the fish flakes easily.

  • In a small saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Add garlic and cook about 30 seconds.

  • Stir in Cajun seasoning, lemon juice, parsley, and cayenne pepper.

  • Spoon the warm Cajun butter over the grilled tripletail and serve immediately.

Pan Seared Tripletail with Lemon Capers

Ingredients

  • 2 tripletail fillets

    Salt and black pepper

    2 tbsp olive oil

    2 tbsp butter

    2 cloves garlic, minced

    2 tbsp capers, drained

    Juice of 1 lemon

    1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  • Pat fillets dry and season both sides with salt and pepper.

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.

  • Place fillets in the pan and sear 3–4 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.

  • Reduce heat to medium. Add butter and garlic, cooking for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

  • Stir in capers and lemon juice, letting the sauce simmer for 1–2 minutes.

  • Return fish to the pan, spoon sauce over the top, and cook for another minute.

  • Finish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
