Emerald Coast Fishing Update – This Week

A hard-fighting bull redfish made this week's inshore fishing one our guests won't soon forget.

Bull Redfish Highlight Another Great Week on the Water

I've been fortunate to stay busy on the water lately, that's always a great sign this time of year. Summer fishing has settled into a dependable pattern, and while the usual offshore favorites continue showing up, this week also brought several impressive bull redfish inshore. Seeing smiling guests hold up fish like those is what makes these trips so much fun.

Inshore Fishing

Inshore fishing produced one of the week's biggest highlights, with several large bull redfish giving guests an unforgettable fight. These powerful fish are always exciting to hook and make for memories that last long after the trip is over. Spotted trout continue providing steady action around the flats and grass lines, while flounder and sheepshead remain part of the summer mix.

Offshore Fishing

Offshore fishing continues producing the dependable summer action we expect this time of year. Red snapper season remains open through July 31 under current FWC Gulf regulations, and recent trips continue finding quality catches. Triggerfish, vermilion snapper, red grouper, and red snapper have remained the core of the offshore bite, giving anglers plenty of opportunities whenever we head into the Gulf.

Fresh Catch Recipe Idea

This week's inshore action featured several impressive bull redfish, making it the perfect time to try one of our favorite redfish recipes. Redfish has a mild, slightly sweet flavor that is excellent blackened, grilled, or cooked on the half shell, making it a longtime Gulf Coast favorite for fish dinners with family and friends.

Captain's Tip

“One of my favorite things about summer is seeing families make memories together on the water. Whether it's your child's first fish or battling a big bull redfish, those are the moments everyone remembers. If you're bringing younger anglers along, just let me know before we leave the dock and I'll make sure we have properly fitted child safety vests ready so everyone can enjoy a safe and comfortable day on the water.”

Whether you're checking What's Biting Now, planning an offshore fishing charter, booking an inshore fishing trip, or looking for a fun family fishing charter, summer continues to be one of my favorite times to fish the Emerald Coast.
