Steady Fishing and Calmer Seas Make for a Great Late Summer Bite
Whether you're visiting Panama City Beach, 30A, or Destin, late August continues to be a great time to get out on the water. I've been fishing most days this last week, and it's been nice to see calmer conditions settle back in after the rough weather we dealt with earlier this month. The August heat is definitely here, but getting out early has been the key to comfortable trips and productive fishing. With another busy week ahead, I'm looking forward to helping more families and anglers enjoy everything the Emerald Coast has to offer.
Inshore Fishing Update
Early morning continues to be the best time to fish inshore during the August heat. Getting on the water before temperatures climb gives us the best opportunity to enjoy comfortable conditions while targeting fish around the bays, grass flats, and nearshore structure. Four-hour trips continue to be a great fit this time of year, especially for families and anglers wanting to beat the afternoon heat.

Offshore Fishing Update
Offshore fishing has stayed consistent over the past week, with many of the same productive patterns continuing from recent trips. Triggerfish, vermilion snapper, red grouper, and gag grouper have continued providing action offshore, and the calmer forecast this week should make for more enjoyable days on the Gulf. Like many local captains, I'm also looking ahead to September, when the return of red snapper and greater amberjack, along with the opening weeks of gag grouper season, kicks off one of my favorite times of the year.

Morning trips usually provide the most comfortable temperatures, calmer conditions, and some of the best fishing of the day. During this time of year, four-hour trips often offer the perfect balance of comfort, great fishing, and plenty of fresh fish to take home. My goal is always to make sure you have a fun, enjoyable day on the water from start to finish.”
