Emerald Coast Fishing Update – This Week

Fresh Gulf red snapper continues to be a highlight of offshore trips this season.

Strong Bite Continues as Summer Fishing Patterns Take Shape

Fishing across the Emerald Coast continues to look strong this week, with solid action both inshore and offshore from Santa Rosa Beach through Destin and over toward Panama City Beach. Gulf conditions have been a little more variable than usual, making some days better than others, but when the right windows open up, the fishing has been well worth it.

Inshore

Inshore trips continue providing a reliable and comfortable option, especially for families and anglers looking to stay closer to shore. With warmer water settling in, there’s been steady action around the flats and grass lines.

Offshore

Offshore fishing continues producing quality action whenever the Gulf settles down. Red snapper season remains open through July 31 under current FWC regulations, and anglers getting offshore are finding plenty to be excited about. The bite has remained strong, with snapper, triggerfish, vermilion snapper, red grouper, and mahi all showing up on recent trips.

Fresh Catch Recipe Idea

With red grouper continuing to show up offshore, this is a great week to try one of our favorite Gulf grouper recipes. Grouper is perfect grilled, blackened, or baked thanks to its mild flavor and firm texture, making it a favorite for both longtime seafood lovers and first-time Gulf fish eaters.

Captain’s Tip

“This time of year, flexibility can pay off. Summer patterns are settling in, and when the Gulf gives you a good weather window, it can make for a really fun day on the water.”

If you’re checking in on what’s biting now or deciding between inshore trips, offshore trips, or a relaxed family fishing trip, summer fishing is shaping up nicely across the Gulf Coast Florida with plenty of opportunities ahead.
